Protect Your Workforce with Mock OSHA Inspections

Is your workplace truly safe, and are your employees protected from potential hazards? Safety is not just a priority—it’s a responsibility. As safety regulations evolve and workplace hazards change, ensuring compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards is more critical than ever. That’s where a mock OSHA inspection comes in.

A mock OSHA inspection is a proactive, internal audit conducted by safety professionals who review your workplace in the same way OSHA would. Unlike a formal OSHA inspection, this process is voluntary and designed to identify potential safety risks before they become costly violations or, worse, lead to workplace accidents. Our team thoroughly examines your facility, equipment, employee practices, and safety documentation, providing you with a detailed report of areas that need attention.

Are Your Employees Truly Safe?

Safety hazards are always evolving. New technologies, equipment, and procedures can introduce risks you may not even realize exist. Are you confident that your employees are protected? With a mock OSHA inspection, you can uncover hidden dangers, address them before OSHA steps in, and most importantly, safeguard the well-being of your team.

The Benefits of a Mock OSHA Inspection:

  1. Proactive Hazard Identification: Get a head start on identifying hazards that could put your employees at risk.

  2. OSHA Compliance: Ensure your workplace complies with the latest OSHA regulations, helping you avoid hefty fines and penalties.

  3. Tailored Safety Recommendations: Receive a detailed, customized action plan to improve workplace safety and prevent future incidents.

  4. Enhanced Employee Confidence: Demonstrate your commitment to their safety, boosting morale and trust in management.

  5. Reduced Liability: Taking preemptive action can reduce the risk of accidents, insurance claims, and legal issues.

Are Mock OSHA Inspections Required?
No, OSHA does not require companies to perform mock inspections. However, they are highly recommended for businesses seeking to maintain compliance and improve workplace safety. Conducting a mock OSHA inspection is a proactive approach that can save your company significant time, money, and stress if or when a real OSHA audit occurs.

Is Your Workplace OSHA Compliant?

What is a Mock OSHA Inspection?

A mock OSHA inspection is an onsite safety and health audit that identifies workplace hazards in order to make sure your business is OSHA-compliant and more importantly, safe. It’s important to have an experienced safety professional conduct these inspections to help ensure hazards are found, and fixed.

Mock OSHA Inspection Terminology

You might have heard of a safety and health audit, assessment, inspection, pre-OSHA inspection, or a mock OSHA inspection. At Lancaster Safety, we call it a comprehensive safety evaluation. All of these terms are referring to a similar type of service.

Does OSHA Require Mock OSHA Inspections?

OSHA requires business owners to provide a workplace free of recognized hazards. In order to do that, regular hazard identification is paramount and a mock OSHA inspection can help business owners stay ahead of hazards.

Safety Hazards Can Morph

One mock OSHA inspection doesn’t check all of the OSHA compliance boxes. Safety violations are always lurking and conditions at your business will change on a daily basis.

Top 5 Reasons to Schedule a Mock OSHA Inspection:

  1. Pinpoint gaps in your company’s current safety and health program.

  2. Avoid potentially costly OSHA fines by abating hazards as soon as possible.

  3. Ask our Safety and Health Consultant questions throughout the inspection.

  4. Identify what positive safety and health practices are already in place.

  5. Keep employees safe on the job in order to get them to return home safely each day.

How Businesses Can Benefit

You might be in a business that is in the beginning stage of your safety journey, and if that is the case, you will find that a mock OSHA inspection is a good starting point to help steer you in the right direction. Or, you might have a company that has a safety program already established, and would like to see how OSHA-compliant your business is. Even if you’re a safety director at a large organization with a high-level safety program, having a second opinion on the company’s safety practices, as a whole, can be rewarding.

What to Expect

Our Safety & Health Consultant will arrive at your workplace and start the evaluation with an opening conference to outline the day’s objectives and identify any concerns. From there, they will write down potential OSHA violations and also point out positive safe work practices. Next, we will inspect your company’s documentation including the health and safety programs, training logs, new hire training records, and injury and illness logs. The visit will wrap up with a closing conference to provide your team with a general idea of the findings.

Safety & Health Audit Report

Upon completion, your company will receive a detailed report outlining observations of potential hazards, safe or unsafe actions, along with best practice recommendations. The report will properly identify any items found and offer suggestions for improvement.
